Making Peace...

Please take a minute to read this slowly.

Hello. My name is Rye Gardner. I was a Sea Org member in the 1990s and left in 1998 without ever doing a proper routing form. I later got a Comm Ev which cleared my name but I never finished the Findings and Recommendations. I have family in Scientology and a brother in the Sea Org in LA.

I was contacted by a terminal offering assistance in completing my Comm Ev Rec’s which included a sec check and proper route-out. I went online, typed in his name to see what I would find and I found someone had labeled this person a “reprogrammer.” I, however, knew this terminal and this didn’t make any sense to me. Thus, I decided “what the hell.” A week later I was on a plane and was immediately started on my sec check.

I have read most of the juicy Black PR on Scientology on the internet and was completely honest with them about this. The truth is that over the last decade I had formed a negative viewpoint about Scientology, partially out of guilt from blowing, and further inflated by Black PR. Walking back into the Church and especially picking the cans back up was a real lesson in confront. I was angry at having to deal with things and doubtful that this was going to be at all positive.

After a few days I calmed down and realized that there was no ulterior motive, no blame, etc. I was treated with respect by every other person I dealt with. I went in session daily and they had me read data they had put together as rebuttal for certain aspects of the Black PR I have read. I read some pertinent issues, watched videos, listened to some relevant lectures, etc.

My point in writing this is that the idea that there is any “reprogramming” going on here is hilarious. If you still have unfinished business here, you can make peace easily. If you have left and are uncertain if it was the right choice, you can take another look. I don't think there is any shame in returning to something you loved being a part of, which is obviously what happened with Mark Fisher’s friend.

It was honestly nice to come back, make peace and remind myself what this group really meant in my life. If you have any questions you would like to ask me you can find me on Facebook.
